Verre de Lune — French Louis XVI-Inspired Cane Dining Table & Chair Set
Verre de Lune — French Louis XVI-Inspired Cane Dining Table & Chair Set
Louis XVI-Inspired Cane Dining Suite
Drawing from late 18th-century French furniture, this dining suite reflects a Louis XVI-influenced approach to symmetry, classical proportions and restrained ornament. The round dining table features a broad circular top with a finely moulded and ornamented apron, supported by a substantial central pedestal with turned and fluted detailing. Its circular form creates a balanced arrangement for the surrounding chairs while keeping the composition visually centred.
The accompanying chairs feature oval cane backs framed by shaped wooden rails, with small carved crest details and upholstered seats finished with decorative nailhead trim. Their slender tapered legs incorporate fluting and turned feet, reinforcing the classical character of the suite. The pale painted finish unifies the table and chairs while allowing the cane panels and carved details to remain visible. Designed for formal dining rooms, French-inspired residences, traditional interiors and refined hospitality settings.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
Made to order, with upholstery and finish selected for each commission.
