Carved Italian-Inspired Rectangular Dining Table Set
Drawing from Italian Baroque and Rococo-influenced furniture traditions, this rectangular dining table features a broad top, shaped apron and slender carved legs. The apron is detailed with flowing foliate carving and scrolling ornament, while the tapered legs continue the decorative language with elongated carved leaf motifs and shaped feet. The softly distressed painted finish reveals the relief work while maintaining the formal proportions of the table.
The accompanying chairs feature tall upholstered backs, shaped wooden frames and gently tapered legs, with patterned upholstery providing a restrained contrast to the carved framework. Their lighter proportions allow the table to remain the principal architectural element within the arrangement.
