Italian Baroque-Inspired Gilded Glass Coffee Table
Drawing from Italian Baroque and Rococo decorative furniture, this rectangular coffee table is defined by a framed glass top and an elaborate sculptural base. The clear glass surface is enclosed by a broad moulded frame with layered gilded edging, providing a restrained horizontal counterpoint to the highly carved support below. The base features opposing scrolling supports enriched with acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, foliate volutes and carved botanical ornament, meeting at a central decorative junction. Strongly curved feet extend outward from the supports, creating the characteristic flowing profile associated with Baroque and Rococo furniture. The deep gilded finish emphasizes the carved relief and reinforces the table's formal decorative character.
Suitable for drawing rooms, reception areas, formal sitting rooms and classically detailed interiors.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
