Italian Rococo-Inspired Giltwood Wall-Mounted Console
Drawing from Italian Rococo and 18th-century European decorative furniture, this wall-mounted console is defined by a shaped demi-lune top, carved apron and elaborate giltwood ornament. The projecting top follows a softly curved profile, while the apron incorporates framed geometric panels, C-scrolls, acanthus foliage and carved shell-like ornament. The central support is formed by a carved foliate bracket that descends into a scrolling volute and rounded terminal, while the side support continues the flowing S-curve beneath the top. The extensive gilded finish emphasises the relief carving and creates a strong relationship between the structural bracket and decorative surface, characteristic of highly ornamented Rococo furniture.
Suitable for bedrooms, entrance halls, dressing rooms, galleries and formal European-inspired interiors.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
Made to order, with upholstery and finish selected for each commission.
