Italian Baroque-Inspired Carved Console with Ornate Mirror
Drawing from Italian Baroque decorative furniture of the 17th and early 18th centuries, this console and mirror ensemble is defined by elaborate carving, strong symmetry and a richly gilded finish. The console features a narrow rectangular top above a deeply carved apron, centred by a shell and foliate cartouche with scrolling acanthus extending toward the corners. The curved supports form pronounced S-shaped cabriole legs, terminating in compact scroll feet, while the lower stretcher incorporates a central carved ornament.
The matching mirror has a tall architectural form with an elaborate carved crest, scrolling foliage, shell motifs and heavily ornamented corner blocks. The antique-gold finish reinforces the carved relief throughout.
Suitable for formal halls, galleries, drawing rooms and classical interiors.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
Made to order, with upholstery and finish selected for each commission.
