Rochelle Dorée
A Louis XVI-inspired French salon settee based on late 18th-century Neoclassical seat furniture, with proportions associated with French menuisiers such as Georges Jacob.
The frame features a shaped crest rail, open carved arms, square corner blocks, a continuous carved seat rail and straight tapered legs with vertical fluting.
The gilded timber frame incorporates Louis XVI decorative vocabulary including central cresting, carved corner details, beaded moulding and restrained foliate ornament.
The upholstery references 18th-century French Aubusson and Beauvais tapestry, with a cream ground, central floral basket, botanical sprays, pastoral figures and floral border.
Designed for French interiors, classical salons, drawing rooms, libraries and formal reception spaces, the settee combines Louis XVI architecture with traditional French tapestry upholstery.
Made to order, with upholstery and finish selected for each commission.
