Carved Neoclassical Round Dining Table and Chair Set
Drawing from French Neoclassical and Louis XVI decorative furniture, this dining set combines a round dining table with a coordinated arrangement of carved side and armchairs. The table features a circular top with a moulded apron decorated with scrolling foliate carving, supported by slender cabriole-style legs with carved details at the joints.
The matching chairs feature openwork oval and shield-shaped back splats, curved crest rails, shaped seats and tapered legs, creating a lighter alternative to heavily upholstered dining chairs. The painted ivory finish unifies the set, while the carved apron and open chair backs provide repeated decorative motifs throughout the arrangement. The restrained proportions suit a formal dining setting without relying on heavy construction.
