Inspired by French Louis XVI seating of the late 18th century, this sofa combines a carved timber frame with a compact, formally proportioned upholstered silhouette.
The curved back is framed by exposed carved timber, with a raised central crest and gently shaped upper rail. The enclosed arms sweep forward from the back, creating a continuous upholstered form, while the exposed side panels are finished with botanical fabric detailing.
The front apron features linear carved ornament with floral and foliate motifs, carried into the slender tapered legs. Each leg is articulated with carved vertical detailing and terminates in a small turned foot, reflecting the restrained geometry associated with Louis XVI furniture.
The upholstery combines a green-and-ivory striped fabric on the interior with a botanical textile across the exterior and arms. The contrasting textiles follow the shape of the frame and emphasise the sofa's curved construction.
