Drawing from 18th-century French Louis XV furniture and Rococo interior design, this bed combines a carved timber frame with a shaped headboard, curved footboard and extensive gilt ornament.
The headboard follows a broad arched profile, with a central carved cartouche surrounded by scrolling foliage and symmetrical rocaille motifs extending toward the outer terminals. The upholstered back is button-tufted, creating a structured textile panel within the carved frame. The footboard uses a recessed rectangular panel framed by mouldings, with a shaped lower rail terminating in carved scrolls and cabriole-style supports.
The upholstery and bedding use ivory and champagne-toned textiles, while the gilded wood provides the principal decorative finish. A suspended crown supports gathered sheer drapery arranged symmetrically around the bed.
