Drawing from French Louis XVI and Neoclassical seating, this dining chair is defined by its oval upholstered back, restrained moulding and turned legs. The oval backrest is enclosed within a layered timber frame and upholstered at the centre, while the seat follows a gently rounded profile with a fitted cushion and piped edging. The seat rail incorporates subtle stepped moulding, continuing into four slender turned legs with repeated ring and baluster details before terminating in small shaped feet. The exposed wood frame has a natural pale finish, allowing the construction and vertical proportions to remain clearly visible. The combination of neutral upholstery and structured timber detailing gives the chair a simplified interpretation of late eighteenth-century French seating.
