Louis XVI-Inspired Carved Console Table
Drawing from Louis XVI-period French decorative furniture, this console is defined by a restrained rectangular case, geometric framing and vertically ordered carved ornament. The apron features a central carved floral and foliate cartouche, flanked by symmetrical leaf motifs and framed drawer detailing. Square corner blocks carry rosette ornament, while the elongated tapered legs are enriched with carved spiral and leaf patterns before terminating in small square collars and turned feet.
The painted and gilt finish emphasises the distinction between the architectural mouldings and carved surfaces. Its proportions and open lower structure make it suitable for entry halls, drawing rooms, galleries and formal transitional spaces. The accompanying rectangular mirror continues the same classical vocabulary with a gilded frame and carved foliate decoration.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
Made to order, with upholstery and finish selected for each commission.
