Italian Baroque-Inspired Carved Console and Mirror
Drawing from Italian Baroque and Rococo decorative furniture, this console and mirror set combines a shaped rectangular top with a strongly carved apron and curved supports. The console features a restrained cream-painted finish with aged gilding, while the apron is centred by a carved foliate cartouche framed by scrolling foliage. The four cabriole legs taper into carved feet, with additional acanthus ornament following the upper sections and corners. Above, the rectangular mirror has a gilded architectural frame with a shaped pierced crest, C-scrolls, foliate carving and pronounced corner ornaments. The combination of pale painted surfaces and selective gilding reflects the decorative treatment associated with later Italian classical interiors.
Designed for entrance halls, galleries, drawing rooms and formal residential interiors.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
