Drawing from Louis XVI and Neoclassical seating, this side chair features a tall upholstered back enclosed within a shaped timber frame. The upper rail has a restrained stepped profile, while the back and seat are upholstered in a charcoal-grey linen textile, giving the otherwise natural timber frame a stronger tonal contrast. The seat rail incorporates square corner blocks and moulded detailing, while the straight tapered legs are articulated with turned collars and shallow fluting. The combination of the geometric lower structure, shaped upper rail and tailored upholstery reflects the ordered vocabulary associated with late-eighteenth-century French furniture. It is suited to dining rooms, studies, bedrooms, dressing areas and classical residential interiors.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
