Drawing from French Louis XV and Provincial decorative seating, this dining chair is defined by a shaped upholstered back, curved seat rail and slender cabriole legs. The tall oval backrest follows a softly rounded profile with exposed moulded wood framing the upholstered panel, while the padded seat continues the same curved outline. The gently shaped seat rail flows into four cabriole legs, each tapering to a small rounded foot and retaining the characteristic outward-and-inward movement associated with French eighteenth-century seating. The exposed frame features a lightly distressed wood finish, complemented by muted grey upholstery across the back and seat for a restrained interpretation of traditional French furniture.
