Drawing from French Louis XV and Rococo seating, this dining chair features a shaped upholstered back, serpentine seat rail and an exposed carved timber frame with flowing asymmetrical curves. The crest rail and apron incorporate foliate carving and shell-derived ornament, while the cabriole legs taper into shaped feet, maintaining the continuous curved vocabulary associated with eighteenth-century French furniture. The back and seat are upholstered in a patterned pink textile, with a decorative fringed treatment around the upper back that recalls historical French textile embellishment. The restrained painted frame with gilt highlights separates the carved details from the upholstery. Its proportions suit formal dining rooms, drawing rooms and French-inspired residential interiors.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
