Drawing from French Louis XVI and Neoclassical seating furniture, this armchair is defined by a rectangular caned back, upholstered seat and disciplined architectural frame. The open cane back is enclosed within a straight moulded frame, while the upholstered seat provides a contrasting upholstered surface below. The arms extend from the back with gently shaped supports and terminate in rolled scroll details, combining the rectilinear Louis XVI structure with restrained curved ornament. Square corner blocks connect the seat rails to the turned and fluted front legs, which taper into small shaped feet. A dark distressed finish emphasizes the grain, moulding and carved details while retaining the formal proportions associated with Neoclassical seating.

The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
