Carved Louis-Style Dining Table and Upholstered Chair Set
Drawing from French Louis XIV and Italian Baroque furniture traditions, this dining set combines a substantial rectangular table with highly carved upholstered chairs. The table features a broad rectangular top, shaped apron and turned and carved legs, with the corner blocks enriched by foliate ornament, scrollwork and recessed decorative panels. The pale painted finish with subtle antiqued detailing emphasizes the carved construction.
The matching chairs feature tall upholstered backs with carved crest rails, shaped side posts and upholstered seats. Decorative carving continues through the arm supports, front legs and seat rails, creating a consistent relationship between the chairs and table. The patterned upholstery introduces a restrained textile contrast against the painted wood framework.
Designed for formal dining rooms, traditional interiors, reception spaces and European-inspired residential settings.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
Made to order, with upholstery and finish selected for each commission.
