Drawing from French Louis XVI and Neoclassical seating, this armchair is defined by its oval upholstered back, structured arm supports and fluted legs. The oval backrest is enclosed within a moulded timber frame and upholstered at the centre, while the broad seat follows a gently squared profile with piped edging. The open arms extend from the back uprights through shaped supports, terminating in carved scroll details that add a restrained decorative accent. Four tapered fluted legs support the seat, incorporating turned rings and carved transitions before ending in small shaped feet. The pale wood finish and neutral upholstery maintain the formal geometry associated with Louis XVI furniture while giving the chair a lighter contemporary interpretation.
