Drawing from Gustavian and late eighteenth-century Neoclassical seating, this dining chair is defined by its open cross-back construction, turned front legs and restrained linear proportions. The rectangular back frame encloses a distinctive series of curved cross members that intersect around a small central circular rosette, creating a balanced geometric motif. A horizontal lower rail supports the open back while the broad upper crest rail provides a clear architectural finish. The upholstered seat is fitted with a shaped cushion and closely spaced nailhead trim along the front and side rails. Turned front legs feature restrained ring detailing, while the lower side and rear stretchers reinforce the chair's traditional construction and proportion.
