Drawing from Louis XVI and Neoclassical seating, this side chair features a tall rectangular back with gently tapered proportions and a structured upholstered seat. The exposed timber frame is defined by restrained moulding, square corner blocks and turned, fluted front legs, characteristic of the geometric vocabulary associated with late-eighteenth-century French furniture. The back and seat are upholstered in a blue-and-cream striped textile, giving the chair a distinctly tailored appearance while retaining its classical construction. The light distressed finish allows the grain and carved details of the frame to remain visible. Its formal profile suits dining rooms, breakfast rooms, studies and refined transitional interiors, particularly where traditional furniture is combined with lighter coastal or contemporary finishes.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
