Italian Baroque-Inspired Gilded Glass Coffee Table
Drawing from Italian Baroque and Rococo decorative furniture, this rectangular coffee table is defined by a framed glass top and an elaborate carved base. The clear glass surface is bordered by a substantial moulded frame with dark painted and gilded detailing, creating a strong contrast with the sculptural supports. The base features opposing C-scrolls, acanthus leaves, foliate volutes and carved botanical ornament, arranged symmetrically around a central scrolling motif. The curved supports extend outward into pronounced scroll feet, while carved corner details connect the upper frame with the sculpted base. The combination of black, antique-gold and carved relief gives the table a distinctly theatrical Baroque character while retaining a structured rectangular proportion.
Suitable for drawing rooms, reception areas, formal sitting rooms and classically detailed interiors.
The frame can be crafted in teak wood, with oak or ash wood also available to suit the desired finish and interior scheme.
