French Louis XVI-Inspired Oval Cane-Back Dining Chair
Drawing from French Louis XVI and Neoclassical seating, this dining chair is defined by its oval cane back, fluted legs and restrained geometric detailing. The oval backrest is enclosed within a moulded timber frame and fitted with woven cane, creating an open yet clearly defined back profile. The upholstered seat has a gently rounded front edge and is framed by a structured seat rail with square corner blocks and subtle moulding. Four tapered fluted legs extend directly from the seat frame, with restrained carved transitions and small shaped feet. The natural painted finish and woven cane introduce a relaxed interpretation of formal French Neoclassical furniture, while the blue upholstery provides a controlled contrast to the pale frame.
