Drawing from French Baroque and Rococo-influenced European furniture traditions, this dining set features an oval dining table with a shaped top, moulded apron and elaborately carved pedestal supports. The base incorporates foliate carving, scrolling volutes and ornamental feet, with a central structure that gives the table a strong architectural presence. The ivory-painted finish with gilded detailing highlights the carved elements and curved profiles.
The matching chairs feature shaped upholstered backs, carved crest rails, curved legs and decorative frame details, upholstered in a patterned blue-green textile that contrasts with the pale painted wood. The combination of oval proportions, carved ornament and contrasting upholstery gives the ensemble a distinctly formal European character.
